The Diva’s Challenge #128 for this week has us use two pencils rubber-banded together to create the string. Note to self: use two pencils of the same hardness/softness. After drawing the string the marks on one side weren’t very apparent so I had to find some good light and reemphasize them. Now, of course, the string shouldn’t be evident at all. I had fun with this tile. I started with Pepper, which I haven’t used in a long time. After browsing TanglePatterns for awhile, I decided on Chartz, mainly because I have never used that tangle before. I ended with some Striping to help balance it. Visit the Diva’s site to see what others have come up with for this challenge.
It was busy, busy, busy . . . but I still got some tangling in. Here is my week in pictures:
Monday – worked (sorry no pics of work)
Tuesday: Paul McCartney in concert was/is the best! Had a fabulous time!!
Thursday – met friends in Cedarburg for lunch and in the evening had a wonderful Zentangle class at Atlas:
On the left are the first tiles for Suzanne, Brad, Asja, Kathy and Susan – we used Bales, Crescent Moon, Printemps and Msst. Their second tiles are on the right and feature Florz, Flux, Hollibaugh and Shattuck with Tipple here and there.
Friday was catch up day at home and I managed to do a bit of tangling myself:
This one was for the Diva’s Challenge although I didn’t submit it – no time, I guess. The challenge was “DuoTangle v. VII: Cirquital/Opus” It looks like Cirquital is trying to contain Opus, doesn’t it? Rather cartoonish looking, me thinks.
On the black Zendala tile I tried my hand at Sandy Bartholomew’s Tangle Card Challenge. The tangle is Annee and I attempted a Hollibaugh rendition of it in the center. I think it needs something. I don’t plan on submitting this one as I want to try it again and see if I can come up with more eye-appealing.
Saturday and Sunday – worked!
However, Sunday is today and it’s National Ice Cream Day!!!! So after dinner we went to our local ice cream shop – Cherry on Top and I had —-
If you missed National Ice Cream Day, I am sure no one would mind if you celebrated it a day or so late. I highly recommend the Salted Caramel Cookie Sundae 🙂
Have a good week and tangle on, my friends!
Well!! I was on vacation the day Linda Farmer at TanglePatterns.com posted my tangle, Por Fin. What a wonderful surprise! Needless to say, I was thrilled. However, now there is a “tag” for my name, meaning I should come up with more tangles – the pressure, oh, the pressure! ———- Just kidding, I am of the “whatever happens, happens” frame of mind and I may come up with another tangle and maybe I won’t, but I will continue to enjoy creating with the Zentangle method. A BIG thank you to all who have commented so kindly about Por Fin and a BIG welcome to those of you who are now following my blog! I can only hope my ramblings are worthy of your attention. 🙂
Although I haven’t posted lately – life got in the way – you know how it is – that doesn’t mean I haven’t been tangling. I wanted to do this past week’s Diva Challenge with a stencil, but I don’t have stencils. Maybe I should say, I didn’t have a stencil, ‘cause now I do. However, on the Monday the challenge was posted, I did not, and I had to wait in a medical type waiting room for a while that day, so, the time was there, the pen and tile at hand, but no stencil – so I kind of made one up – not a very good one, but nonetheless, a tile I can post here, if not for the actual challenge.
In my browsing the web and visiting other blogs I discovered that Sandy Bartholomew has posted a contest at BeezintheBelfry. It is Tangle Card Challenge #1 – go to her blog and read about it and enter if you so desire. You could possibly win a set of her Tangle Cards which will be available for purchase in September, but she is giving them away in some contests each week. I made two tiles using her YAF tangle. I’m not sure which tile I will enter – I actually have to figure out how to enter it, though – it’s a Facebook thing. (that’s the link to her studio Facebook page)
Here’s the first one –
This is the second one I did – I think I like the second one better – the first one was really a warm-up tile, since I hadn’t done YAF in quite a long time. The next step is to figure out how to upload it to BeeziInkStudio Facebook page. —- I think I’ve uploaded pictures before on my own page though —- hmmm, I’ll figure it out.
Have you found any challenges or contests out there? What have you challenged yourself to do lately? Post a comment and let me know, till then, tangle on, my friends.
